Calgary West Basketball (Calwest) is a volunteer run, non-profit organization that provides basketball training and competition for boys and girls ages 7 to 19. 
We are a member of the Calgary Minor Basketball Association (CMBA).   We have both highly competitive and purely recreational level teams and believe in equal playing time for all
.
   


Evaluations will start the beginning of September.

Only registered players and registered waitlist players may participate.
Age group coordinators will be contacting these players a week prior by e-mail.

Jr and Juvenile start September 9th
Mini, Bantam, Midget start week of September 13th.

There are no evaluations for Tykes. Program will start end of September.


Registrations for the 2010/2011 are no longer being accepted.
All age groups are currently full with large waitlists.

Calgary West Community Boundaries
North:  16 Avenue N.W. from the west city limits to the Bow River, The Bow River to the Elbow River.
South:  Elbow River between West City limits & 37 Street S.W.; Glenmore Trail SW between 37 Street SW & the Glenmore Reservoir.
East:  The Elbow River between the Glenmore Reservoir & the Bow River.
West: West City limits between 16 Avenue NW & the Elbow River.
Players residing in Springbank are included in Calwest.

Our Mission

To provide a fun and challenging environment for children of all skill levels to learn and develop their basketball skills.


Our Goal

To develop sportsmanship, basketball skills, teamwork, life skills, competitiveness, and a love of the game of basketball in our players.


Our Players

Calgary West Basketball is a non-profit volunteer organization.  Our primary goal is accommodate accommodate every player who wishes to play but the number of players accepted each year may be limited by the number of gym times available to us and by the number of volunteer coaches and administrators available.  In seasons where registration exceeds the number of teams available, priority is given to families who have volunteered for Calgary West Basketball in the past or currently, priority is then on a first come first serve basis.  We do not give priority to players based on ability.


Calgary West Basketball reserves the right to refuse registration to any player or family that does not abide by the rules of the CMBA, or has not respected the rights of other players, coaches, equipment and facilities, or other volunteers of Calgary West Basketball.  Calgary West Basketball also reserves the right to ask a player or family to withdraw from the program, without refund, for serious or continuous violations of CMBA or Calgary West Basketball rules by either players or other family members.  Players and parents are strongly encouraged to read and understand the material on the Parents and Players Information pages of this Website.
